These pictures were taken from video shot with my flip camcorder. I shot the video on my way and upon the arrival, and as I waited outdoors at my Amish friends farmstead. The Amish man on the open freight wagon, with a team of horses pulling it, is my friends neighbor (see the farmstead off in the distance on one photo). The following pictures are of the small valley in which some in this far northern Minnesota Amish community make their home. That leads to the view of my friends home, his driveway with buggies down below and his carpentry shop. The buggies are shown in several closeups. One has just one bench seat, the other two bench seats one behind the other. The shots of the horses shows a brownish red horse which, at age 11, has become arthritic and has been place out to pasture. The Amish owner has a huge decision ahead of him in that it will be hard to feed him through the coming winter. After all there are three other horses (one a colt) and a milking cow plus a family which includes 7 kids and wife and father. In the distance on the last shot is the area which includes a small river (not visible).
